In quick time Viking Skull was record ing and enjoying non-stop touring (European runs with HIM Dio CKY and later their first trip to the US alongside Clutch) when one memorable evening things came to an abrupt halt. What can only be recalled as a drop-down all out battle (fueled by lots and lots of absinthe unfortunately supplied by CKY friend/drummer Jess Margera) the Skulls outer edges fried and the band broke up. Later finding out what had happened Margera the bands sole American offered up his services and within short time wounds healed and Viking Skull was back and kicking ass. Heavy Metal Thunder combines Viking Skulls debut ep and full-length album plus fivebonus tracks. Fully remastered and featuring new artwork the record finally brings the bands early tunes to the ears of fans. It is released nearly 2 years to the date from their last studio album the mega-heavy slab Doom Gloom Heartache & Whiskey (Powerage). Heavy Metal Thunder will precede the release of the bands new still in progress ep. Viking Skull are set to announce new tour dates for the UK late autumn/early winter.
